American-Palestinian Adolescent Liberated After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

A American-Palestinian teenager who spent nine months in Israel's custody absent formal charges was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested in February throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

United States authorities said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems developed during imprisonment.

In a statement, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we are focused on providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances over several months."

US officials said it would continue to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities considers paramount to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," officials stated.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to the state department and the administration, urging greater action to secure his release.

Mr Ibrahim, with four children operating an ice cream shop in Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing due to physical abuse.

The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son since February, and only heard regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.

He stayed without charge within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.

The facility also contains grown detainees, including individuals found guilty for major terrorist activities including killings.

Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Many have never been charged and human rights groups, and international organizations, report instances of abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin Sayfollah Musallet.

The dual national youth who the Palestinian health ministry said succumbed to assault by settlement residents following tensions in July.

At the time, defense forces stated officials were investigating accounts of a Palestinian had been killed.

Both young men collaborated in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.

No indictments occurred with Sayfollah's killing.

"We anticipate United States leadership to ensure our family's safety," family representatives emphasized.
