British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
This update on his health comes as the sports world had expressed sympathy for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
