Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
